Vintage Postcards

I love 'vintage' everything. This is because I prefer everything I own to have some meaning to it - whether it is a family heirloom, a gift from someone special, or a momento from an adventure. I don't like having stuff for the sake of having stuff. So decorating our hone has been slow going, since I am hesitant to just buy something to fill blank wall space. Lord willing, I have years of adventure and friendship ahead with which to accent.
That being said, the blank walls in our guest bedroom were boring me, so I completed this budget project a few months ago.
I printed these postcards from the Memphis Public Library Archives.  They have hundreds of vintage images online that are free printables! I searched through early 20th century postcards of Memphis and found meaningful ones in similar color schemes. Then I matted them and placed them in clearance frames which I had previously spray painted silver. They were black before, but that was too stark for this room. Total cost of the project $22!

I'm baaaaack!

So sorry, blogosphere, for my absence of over a year. Gasp! I have been wanting to write a really GREAT post about our goings on, where I've grown, etc. but the burden is just too large. So, today I'm just saying "hi" to break the silence. So there, I did it.
